Porsche Museum: An absolute must-see for car enthusiasts, the Porsche Museum (10 kilometres from Stuttgart), provides a comprehensive history of the automotive giant. With more than 80 cars on display — ranging from legendary racing and sports cars to iconic production models and unusual prototypes — the exhibits take visitors on a journey from the early years through to the present day of the brand’s illustrious history.
Heidelberg: Situated approximately 120 kilometres from Stuttgart, the picturesque town of Heidelberg can be reached in around 90 minutes by car. Heidelberg is renowned for its Baroque architecture, beautiful riverside setting and half-ruined hilltop castle which overlooks the old city (the castle can be reached by cable car). Unlike the majority of German towns, Heidelberg emerged from WWII virtually unscathed, and has remained as one of the country’s most enchanting locations.
Tripsdrill Wildlife Park: Set in 47 hectares of beautiful countryside, Tripsdrill Wildlife Park is home to around 40 species. The park be reached in approximately one hour when driving from Stuttgart. From fearsome predators such as European and Arctic wolves, bears and lynxes through to fallow and sika deer which can be petted and fed, all of the animals live under conditions suited to their particular species. The park also has many types of birds of prey (including eagles, vultures and owls), and stages daily falconry displays to wow visitors.
